Early RB News for 2011 FF Season

Though the NFL lockout looms, it's still important to keep an eye on news that could impact your 2011 fantasy football season, especially for those in keeper or dynasty leagues.  Here's a few items of note regarding RBs:
  • Clinton Portis likely will be released by the Redskins very soon.  He turns 30 this September.  As it stands, he'll be draftable only in very late rounds for depth.
  • New Broncos head coach John Fox says that Knowshown Moreno will have a partner to split carries with; could it be free agent DeAngelo Williams?  Remember that Fox's M.O. is to go with a rought 50/50 RBBC.
  • Giants coach Tom Coughlin says that RB Brandon Jacobs needs a larger workload next season.  Take with a grain of salt.
  • New Browns coach Pat Shurmur indicated recently that Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty (who's coming off ACL surgery) will likely be employed in an RBBC.  Keep in mind when drafting Hillis -- don't reach.
